Meliae
nymphs ash tree and honey
The Meliae Ash Nymphs are from Greek mythology and were born from Uranus' blood when he was castrated by Cronos. They then inhabited the mountain of ash. These Nymphs were the mothers of the third Bronze Race of humankind. This race of people dieted on sweet manna and ash.
They were very aggressive and loved war. they created weapons such as spears from the branches of the trees. The Meliae are similar to the honey-nymphs and both provided the Olympian s gods with food of ash and honey.
According to Hesoid, the Meliae Ash Nymphs were born at the same time as the Dirae.
