Delphi Museum
Brief Overview
Delphi Archaeological museum is the museum that houses the ancient artefacts that were found in Delphi, Greece.
Its centrepiece is the antiquities found in the complex of the ancient Oracle of Delphi from the 18th century BC when the oracle was founded to its decline in Late Antiquity. Its exhibits are mainly offerings to the oracle and architectural parts of the buildings.
Collections: Treasury of Sifnos, Treasury of Athens, Hellenistic art sculptures, Pediments of the temple of Apollo.
Highlights: Charioteer of Delphi, Omphalos, Kleobis and Biton, Pediments from the Temple of Apollo, The Sphinx of Naxos, Dancers of Delphi, Chryselephantine sculpture of Apollo, Agias of Pharsala, The White kylix of Delphi represents Apollo offering a libation, Statue of a Bull, Bronze incense-burner.
