1. Solo Leveling

Solo Leveling manga summary:

10 years ago, after “the Gate” that connected the real world with the monster world opened, some of the ordinary, everyday people received the power to hunt monsters within the Gate. They are known as "Hunters". However, not all Hunters are powerful. My name is Sung Jin-Woo, an E-rank Hunter. I'm someone who has to risk his life in the lowliest of dungeons, the "World's Weakest". Having no skills whatsoever to display, I barely earned the required money by fighting in low-leveled dungeons… at least until I found a hidden dungeon with the hardest difficulty within the D-rank dungeons! In the end, as I was accepting death, I suddenly received a strange power, a quest log that only I could see, a secret to leveling up that only I know about! If I trained in accordance with my quests and hunted monsters, my level would rise. Changing from the weakest Hunter to the strongest S-rank Hunter!

Our Comments:

Frankly, it is a very interesting manga. If you are into fantasy, action and a very interesting story that keeps you hooked – you should consider this manga. On top of that, and having looked at the light novel, as the story progresses it expands from dimension to dimension and goes completely insane. Definitely recommended.

2. My Wife is a Demon Queen

My Wife is a Demon Queen manga summary:

Xiang Ye, near-friendless high-school student, whose parents have been overseas for years, goes to bed after marathoning an MMORPG raid event (the only social contact he has) on his summer vacation. He wakes up face to face with the Demon Queen of another world; Lady Isabella, Seventh Queen of the House of Osa, is steaming livid at her head priest for summoning a pathetic excuse of a "legendary hero" while a hostile army is ramming their front door. As the last of her magical power bleeds from her wounds and she takes on a human appearance, the summoning priest teleports them away, but enemy scouts from the near-psychotic Red Dragon Legion charge upon them and slaughter her guards, unaware of her true identity but all too eager to kill humans and demons alike. Xiang Ye's only hope for their continued survival in human lands is to proclaim Isabella as his human wife...

Our Comments:

This is an Isekai manga (aka, the main protagonist going to another world) which has a captivating and funny story going for it. As the main protagonist gradually matures, and constantly becomes stronger, and as he – together with the Demon Queen, have to go through various circumstances, the love affection between the two leads, deepens. Do we recommend it? If you are into this type of fantasy story, the answer is definitely yes!

3. Goblin Slayer

Goblin manga summary:

A young priestess has formed her first adventuring party, but almost immediately they find themselves in distress. It's the Goblin Slayer who comes to their rescue--a man who's dedicated his life to the extermination of all goblins, by any means necessary. And when rumors of his feats begin to circulate, there's no telling who might come calling next... Adaptation of the Novel "Goblin Slayer".

Our Comments:

This manga might, for some people, be a little brutal but it has an amazing story and the (main) adventurers have their own personality and, as the story progresses, are very interesting to follow around. Moreover, as the story goes on the reader is introduced into a world of fantasy, action and… Goblins. On top of that, the manga has also a few spin-off stories that further expand the goblin slayer’s universe.

4. Release that Witch

Release That Witch manga summary:

A male engineer transmigrated into another world, and became a prince. This place strikingly resembles the Middle Ages of Europe, but at the same time, it seems kind of different? Witches truly exists, and they even possess magic powers! Magic powers are productive forces! Save the witches, liberate the productive forces! Open map, fight demons, break conspiracies, climb up the science and technology tree, and open the path of hardcore ‘farming’!

Our Comments:

This is a very interesting manga. Although compared to its light novel (which is 1498 chapters long) it is still in its early stages - nevertheless, the most interesting part of it is how the main protagonist gradually introduces our world’s technologies into a Middle-Ages fantasy type world of witchcraft. Furthermore, as the story progresses, the reader is introduced to power games (think of it like game of thrones), wars, witchcraft, strategies, parallel dimensions and… love. If you are into this type of stories, you should read this manga.

Change the past and gather powerful comrades to save mankind!

Our Comments:

In short, this manga introduces us to a kick-ass main character and his strong warriors group - while during the final dungeon break, which threatens to destroy our world, they somehow fail to clear the final boss and practically get all killed. But instead of moving to the afterlife, the main character is teleported back to the past. Now, having been given a second chance, possessing the knowledge of the future and having only a limited time before having to face off (again) against the final boss – he tries to change, to affect and to alter the circumstances that will eventually lead to their demise. Our Comments:

This is another Isekai manga (aka, the main protagonist going to another world); but a very good one. Besides of the action, it has a very interesting and captivating story. Moreover, the characters of this manga (especially the main ones) have all depth and you will care for them. Definitely a good read!

You can also check out its anime adaption – which is way behind the manga – but is a very good show.

7. The Eminence in Shadow

The Eminence in Shadow manga summary:

Just like how everyone adored heroes in their childhood, a certain young man adored those powers hidden in shadows. After hiding his strength and living the mediocre life of a mob character by day while undergoing frenzied training by night, he finally reincarnates into a different world and gains ultimate power. The young man who is only playing at being a power in the shadows, his misunderstanding subordinates, and a giant organization in the shadows that gets trampled….. This is the story of a young boy who had adored powers in shadows possibly eventually reigning over the world of shadows in another world.

Our Comments:

Although the manga is still in its beginning phases (aka, only a few chapters so far) it is a very good manga. Especially, considering the main protagonist’s approach to adopt a Batman/Dark Knight style. While on his official everyday life he presents himself as something like an ordinary guy, in reality he is very strong and rules over a group of (female) warriors that practically fight darkness from the shadows. A very funny, interesting and action-packed story. You should definitely check out this manga.

Although the manga started off quite recently it is amazing. But be warned: it is violent, brutal and merciless. It is a manga that is rooted on a merciless vendetta. If you like this type of stories – you should read it!

Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha manga summary:

Having the capability to destroy humans, elementals, and gods, after a long period of countless wars and strife, Arnos the demon lord became sick and tired of all that and longed for a peaceful world, so he decided to reincarnate to the future.

However, what awaited him after his reincarnation is a world too used to peace that his descendants became too weak due to a huge weakening in magical powers.

Our Comments:

Long story short, the absolute OP (aka, over-powered) demon lord got sick of all the bloodshed, and the wars, which he ruled over and decided to reincarnate into the future; in hopes for more peaceful times.

2000 years into the future, indeed times a more peaceful (at least on the surface) but all historical events appear to have been twisted. Nobody remembers the actual demon lord (aka, the main protagonist) while it appears that someone has messed with their memories.

As the story progresses, our main protagonist dives into the backstage of this new mysterious world in order to unravel the mysteries of the past.

Although this manga is in its early stages, it is definitely worth reading and we do recommend it!

15. Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin)

Attack on Titan manga summary:

Centuries ago, mankind was slaughtered to near extinction by monstrous humanoid creatures called titans, forcing humans to hide in fear behind enormous concentric walls. What makes these giants truly terrifying is that their taste for human flesh is not born out of hunger but what appears to be out of pleasure. To ensure their survival, the remnants of humanity began living within defensive barriers, resulting in one hundred years without a single titan encounter. However, that fragile calm is soon shattered when a colossal titan manages to breach the supposedly impregnable outer wall, reigniting the fight for survival against the man-eating abominations.

After witnessing a horrific personal loss at the hands of the invading creatures, Eren Yeager dedicates his life to their eradication by enlisting into the Survey Corps, an elite military unit that combats the merciless humanoids outside the protection of the walls. Based on Hajime Isayama's award-winning manga, Shingeki no Kyojin follows Eren, along with his adopted sister Mikasa Ackerman and his childhood friend Armin Arlert, as they join the brutal war against the titans and race to discover a way of defeating them before the last walls are breached.

Our Comments:

If by any chance you have never heard about Attack on Titan before, well… it is about time to jump into the world of titans. The manga starts off in an area in which the “last” surviving humans have gathered and from there it explores the entire world. We will not spoil anything, but as the story progresses more and more layers of the truth reveal themselves. Both the manga and the anime are very popular in the circles of manga and animation. Just a heads up: it is violent!

Should you read it? Yes, you should!

As the years pass, Shin displays unparalleled talent in both magic casting and martial arts, much to Merlin's constant amazement.

However, living a normal life is impossible, as he is established as a local celebrity almost as soon as he arrives.

Our Comments:

A manga that is light-hearted and takes place in a magic-fantasy world; in which the reader will be able to read a captivating story and follow the main characters around as they evolve, become stronger and fall in love. 17. Murabito desu ga Nani ka?

Murabito desu ga Nani ka? manga summary:

Iijima Ryuuto was reincarnated into another world as Lute Macklen. The most appropriate occupation for his stature after reincarnation was a villager?! Even his house was just of a normal farmer and obviously poor. In this world where goblins and dragons exist, there was a lot of stories about adventurers and mages. However, here, the occupation of a person is greatly reflected in their status, Ryuuto could not really expect to be OP. This is a story about Ryuuto becoming the strongest, despite being a villager.

Our Comments:

If you are confused with the above manga summary, here is what is going on: The main protagonist is being reincarnated into the class of a villager; which in terms of power etc, is rock bottom. Nevertheless, due to various certain circumstances and by using his head, he acts strategically and through a lot of training he eventually becomes an existence that stands above the rest.

What sets this manga apart is that you have a main protagonist that acts strategically, adjusts and adapts his plans according to any given situation … in other words, you have a protagonist that knows and understands his s**t – in contrast to some other manga out there.

Add to the above a very good storyline, interesting characters, a lot of action, love, dragons, witches, fantasy, knights and elves…; and you practically have a mix of a top-notch manga.

18. World Teacher - Isekaishiki Kyouiku Agent

World Teacher - Isekaishiki Kyouiku Agent manga summary:

A man who was once called the world strongest agent, ended up becoming a teacher after his retirement to train the new generation of agents. After many years of training his disciples, he is killed at the age of 60 by the ploy of a secret organization and was reincarnated in another world with all his past memories.

Though he was surprised by the magic and the strange species of that world, he adapted very fast to his condition as a newborn and took advantage of it. He acquired special magic and gained a massive amount of strength thanks to his tight discipline, in order to reach his goal: Resume his career as a teacher which he left halfway through in his previous life. This is the story of a man, who, based on the memories and the experiences of his previous life, became a teacher who travels through the world with his students.

Our Comments:

OK, this manga is interesting and amazing.

To help you grasp the essence of the specific manga think of it like this:

A Navy Seal (or elite military assassin) is reincarnated into another world with all of his memories intact (experiences and Navy Seals training included).

Due to the type of universe over there, he is now able to use magic as well – as the rest of the existences that live there. Now, he combines everything that he knows from our world, with the magic from that world, and turns into a Navy Seal multiplied by 10.

Finally, as he enters the magic school, he acquires additional fellow students, as his disciples, and through a vigorous (Navy Seals *cough*) training turns them into his elite troops. Add to it power games, shadow groups that strive for power, some love into the mix, a lot of action, an interesting storyline and… you get a very impressive manga.

19. The Wrong Way to use Healing Magic

The Wrong Way to use Healing Magic manga summary:

Usato Ken is a regular second-year high school student. On a certain rainy day, the two most admired people of the student council, Inukami Suzune and Ryuusen Kazuki, notice that he doesn't have an umbrella. They end up talking as they walk together, but they are suddenly summoned to another world as heroes. It seems as though Ken was dragged into the summoning, but he can't return to Earth. What will he do? Will he mope around in despair or will he take action?

Our Comments:

In short here is the main plot of the manga: the main protagonist is summoned (aka, dragged) alongside two of his fellow students to another world. In contrast to the other two students, who receive hero like powers and are geared more towards combat – our main protagonist ends up with “only” healing magic (which is also considered a rare power).

The female leader of the healing squad (which so happens to be kick-ass and the strongest knight of all) takes him to her unit, trains the hell out of him and turns our main protagonist into such a powerful healer – that in combat even surpasses the heroes by far.

The manga is light-hearted, has a very interesting and solid storyline and you will end up carrying for the main protagonist. On top of that, you will be constantly looking forward for the next chapter.

20. Berserk of Gluttony

Berserk of Gluttony manga summary:

In this world, there are two types of people. Those Who have powerful "skills", and those who don't. People born with powerful skills, exterminate monsters to level up and become successful, while people without them, become failures, who are treated harshly by society. Follow the story of Fate, a guy who works as a gatekeeper, and whose only skill is gluttony, a skill that only makes him hungry.

Our Comments:

In all honesty, the manga description can be misleading. You see, his skill – gluttony – allows him to constantly level up and to turn into the most powerful warrior.

As you follow the main protagonist’s rise, from the bottom to the top, by adding to the story a cursed talking sword, an immense fantasy world, magic, knights, dragons, adventurers, strong character development, amazing storyline… the manga is bound to belong to the top 20. Definitely worth your time.

21. Volcanic Age

Volcanic Age manga summary:

Joo Seo-Cheon is a man that, through the luck in his life, was able to rise from his poor orphan life to become the leader of the Mount Hua sect in his war-torn time. Yet despite his achievements, he feels that his life was wasted, missing out on many experiences and adventures.

Now old and in his deathbed, Seo-Cheon is expecting to meet the embrace of the gods, but gets reincarnated as an 8-year-old boy from the same sect from the past. Instead of despairing and giving up on everything, he gets filled with a new determination to live a new life, this time to the fullest.

Our Comments:

When looking at the manga description it may not tell you much nor convince you to actually bother reading it. Nevertheless, it is a very good manga (in both storyline and graphics). On top of that, it has a main character that is kick-ass and eventually also becomes OP. The manga’s story becomes more and more complex and it will keep you hooked on for more.

In short, the story goes like this:

Old power-politician dies filled with regrets of his past life. He is then reincarnated into the past while being 8 years old. Possessing the knowledge of the future (knowledge, martials arts, the wars that will occur, who his allies used to be, historical events to happen, the love of his life etc) he decides that instead of becoming that pathetic old fool once again – to leave his life, as he would have wished, to the fullest.

Thus, he trains his ass off (in every kind of martial arts), uses every method in his disposal to save the people of his country, to get the woman that he loves and so forth. And as the story progresses, a lot of battles occur and the more complicated the story becomes.

Volcanic Age easily makes it into the list of top manga to read.

22. Genjitsushugisha no Oukokukaizouki (How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom)

How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom manga summary:

"O, Hero!" With that cliched line, Kazuya Souma found himself summoned to another world and his adventure–-did not begin. After he presents his plan to strengthen the country economically and militarily, the king cedes the throne to him and Souma finds himself saddled with ruling the nation! What’s more, he’s betrothed to the king’s daughter now…?!

In order to get the country back on its feet, Souma calls the wise, the talented, and the gifted to his side. Five people gather before the newly crowned Souma. Just what are the many talents and abilities they possess…?! What path will his outlook as a realist take Souma and the people of his country down? A revolutionary transferred-to-another-world administrative fantasy series starts here!

Our Comments:

OK, to get the obvious out of the way. This manga has indeed some clichés and is also geared towards a Harem-type direction.

But this is where all the clichés – with the other manga – end. This manga has a very compelling storyline and is geared towards readers that love stories that also demand a lot of thinking, are based on character development and have a story that constantly expands as the story progresses.

We will not say much about it, so as not to spoil anything, but this manga is definitely worth your attention – read it!

Our comments:

We will not say much about it except that this manga series is one of the best Isekai that we have read so far and is available out there.

It has a very compelling story, characters with depth and as it goes on – it becomes more and more complicated and interesting.

On top of that, although it has some OP typical Isekai stuff nevertheless, it is rooted more in science and in rational decision making rather than the usual nonsense.

All in all, this manga you should definitely read!

In short, the story starts of as a story of revenge in which the (older) twin brother goes after the people that betrayed and killed his brother. Thus, he enters a mysterious paralel world (of gods, demons, dragons, swords and magic) to hunt down everyone that was involved in his brother's death.

In all honesty, this manga is one of our favorites.

It is definitely on par with Solo Levelling. What is more, as the story progresses it gets more and more interesting and amazing.

All in all, this manga you should definitely read!

Our comments:

So far, the manga has one of the most solid-story telling for an Isekai genre. As you move on in the story the worlds expand, the characters are deep and you will gradually witness how the MC grows and becomes kick ass.

You may wonder: isn’t it the typical pattern of Isekais and how it is done?

Well, this one does actually an amazing job in how the story is being portrayed. Read it and you will understand why we insist.

28. Her Summon

Synopsis

Due to a misuse of a word joke on live TV broadcast, girl group otaku, 'Jin-Kyung' ended up becoming doxxed and labeled as a "child predator", and ended up getting Social Anxiety Disorder. 3 years later, because of his past incident from the 3D world, his love for only the 2D world manifested, and ended up becoming a "Shut-In Otaku"!

Then one day, as Jin-Kyung was no-lifing as usual, he was summoned to ‘Another World’, and came face-to-face with a bright-eyed, hopeful Summoner… Interesting enough, in the world that Jin-Kyung was summoned to, his Social Anxiety Disorder disappeared, and he was also able to wield immense power, and became the strongest summoned being there ever was!!

The story of a former girl group otaku turned powerful 2D otaku, and the story of a weak and feeble Summoner commences now!!!

Our comments:

A very strong and solid story line. In short, the MC just tries to play with words during an interview and messes up the entire thing. As usually, the media and people that had no idea who he really is condemned the MC which led to him breaking down in a psychological manner.

Summoned in another world, as the MC travels forth and back. Even though he fights monsters and strong opponents in the Fantasy world… as he tries to safe everyone he also gradually matures and tries to fix his life here on earth as well.

Our comments:

Fans of this type of manga are considering the Second Coming of Gluttony on par with Solo Leveling (some even going beyond that).

Truth be told, both mangas are amazing in their own right.

When comparing the light novels – similarly to the mangas – both of them are beautifully done, with amazing stories and will definitely draw you in. Although, the light novel of the Second coming at some points appears to be more detailed than its Solo Leveling counterpart.

The Point is:

If you like Solo Leveling, you should definitely read the Second Coming of Gluttony.

If you like the Second Coming of Gluttony, you should definitely read Solo Leveling.

We are fortunate to have such amazing mangas available to us.

Thus, should you read the manga of the Second Coming of Gluttony? Hell, yeah!!!

Additionally: Here is our "personal" take:

The Manga is still in its early stages in regards to the novel – and when we say early, we mean early stages!

BUT… the novel is highly addictive and super amazing!!! As a matter of fact, it is one of the best light novels (or web novels if you prefer) out there.

Toping that of, if the manga will follow the steps of the novel than it definitely will become a classic. Should you read the manga and the novel?

Damn, YES!!!

Our comments:

This is a manga from South Korea (manga over there are called differently but who cares about such technicalities at this point lol).

Any way… This is definitely one hell of a manga. The story is solid and dead serious. What is more interesting is that the story starts off slowly, taking its time for character building, and around the end of chapter 11 it kicks off and goes ballistic.

As the world expands and more characters get introduced the more complex the story becomes. Fighting in there, when done, is done for a purpose and with a goal behind it.

Stylish, with a stoic kickass MC that is after revenge and a world - and story - that you will love!

Thumbs up!!!

Our comments:

So far it is a very good manga that you will love to read. A great story, great design, main characters with personalities and an MC that virtually kicks ass.

Not to mention the fact that the MC is not shy to hit on a woman straight up (especially some MILF(s) hahaha – you have to read it to get the hind lol).

In short: so far, this is an all-around top (revenge) manga that is highly praised and something that you should definitely read!

Thumbs up!!!

If you guys are into cultivation stories, reincarnating back in time etc. than we would suggest you, to definitely read this one. For starters, it has a very good, engaging and flashed out story (in contrast to the plethora other cultivation “copy-paste stories” out there).

Two, its characters have depth and are fun to read their progress (females included). But above all, you have an OP MC that uses his brains, has backbone and is not afraid to hit on the woman that he loves. Action packed, interesting, engaging… you will just love this one!!!

Thumbs up!!!

OK, we have the privilege to have read the light novel and, in regards to the light novel, it just kicks ass. In other terms, the light novel is amazing!!!

So, this brings us to the manga: so far, the manga blows everything out of proportion – something that you can also see through the very high rankings that the manga has.

Both the manga and the light novel are amazing!!!

Should you read it? A definitely and resounding YES is the answer to it!

40. Mercenary Enrollment

Synopsis

Yu Ijin was the sole survivor of a plane crash when he was little. After becoming a mercenary to survive for 10 years, he returns to his family in his hometown.

Our comments:

Story wise, it still is relatively at the beginning of its story; so there is still much room for expansion and going to various directions.

But hands-down this is one of the most satisfying manwhas we have ever read.

How the MC hands his enemies their asses is just soooooo cathartic. There is no cultivation stuff either (if you're fed up with that concept).

In all seriousness we never thought that we would get so much addicted to it. As for the MC… oh, my God, you will love him!!!

Give this definitely a try. Ultra-highly recommend!!!
